4-H MARKET SALE RULES

FFA MARKET SALE RULES

EXHIBITOR:

Ø Any Whatcom County 4-H or FFA member in grades 3-12 enrolled with the animal as a project is eligible to sell. High school seniors are allowed to sell at the fair following high school graduation.

Ø Only projects with BLUE or RED ribbon record books with a completed up-to-date market livestock record will be eligible to sell.  4-H Members submit a photocopy of up-to-date 4-H Market Livestock Record (C0728) on Monday of the Fair to the Lynden Junior Livestock Sales Committee.

Ø No exhibitor can sell more than one animal nor have more than 2 lots in 1 animal species.

Ø If you miss fitting and showing your animal will NOT go through the sale.

Ø FFA and 4-H exhibitors must be responsible for fitting, showing, SELLING, and controlling their own animal during the auction/sale.

Ø Each buyer of a market animal(s) is responsible for removal of purchased animal from the fairgrounds by the conclusion of the fair on Sunday.

Ø For students showing multiple species/animals, a tentative decision as to which animal will go through the sale will be made at the time of weigh in. Students will then have two hours after their last type class has shown to make a decision of whether or not to change animals. If the Market Sale Committee has not been contacted for a change, the original animal selected will go through the sale.

Ø 4-H and FFA members may enter animals in the market classes and elect not to sell the animals in the market sale. However, Grand and Reserve placed animals must be sold in the auction.

Ø The purchaser of a market animal will receive the student photo thank-you certificate to be delivered to buyer within 30 days.
